As a rule of thumb, when the angle of incidence goes from 0° to 45°, the central wavlength shifts down by about 10%. Unlike colored filter glass, the cut-on and cut-off wavelength of these filters will shift to a shorter wavelength as the angle of incidence is increased. Their film construction is essentially a modified quarter-wave stack, using interference effects rather than absorption, to isolate their spectral bands (see the Specs tab for transmission information). These edgepass filters feature durable dielectric coatings that withstand the normal cleaning and handling necessary when using any high-quality optical component. Thorlabs' longpass and shortpass filters are very useful for isolating regions of a spectrum.

The trails here vary from narrow and unimproved to fairly wide, much improved singletrack designed specifically for MTBing. Although this web of singletrack can seem a bit confusing, there is little chance of actually getting lost since virtually every rideable section of it eventually leads back to the road. "Whypass Trail" is a bit of a misnomer as this is actually a system of interconnected trails that run through the forested hills on both sides of the paved BLM road the parking lot is on.
